Mark Shur has been documenting these lovely vintage signs around him in a series titled “Sign Language” on his Flickr– the faded and rusting letters create new textures for these familiar letters. It’s also a great way to study vintage typography and to get inspiration for color palettes.

All of these signs remind of the lettering to those old Hanna-Barbara cartoon classics, like the Jetsons– I love how oddly angular and colorful the signage can be. [Via Designworklife.]
