My roommate and I were obsessed with this bowl last week– the Obol is a clever compartmentalized bowl that separates your cereal from its milk, so that you will never have soggy cereal again. The two halves are delineated with a decorative squiggle going across the middle, and there’s a nook under the swell of the bowl for your hands. When you need to move the cereal to the milk part of the Obol, just push them down the Spiral Slide that bridges the two sides.

You can also use the Obol for more than just cereal; the Obol website suggest quite a few other combos, such as chips and salsa or soup and crackers. From the website:

Obol® is The Original Crispy Bowl® that solves the problem of soggy cereal. With the unique Swoop n Scoop®, the Obol makes every bite as crispy as the first bite. The Spiral Slide design makes it possible to enjoy your cereal until the last bite.

You can set the Obol down to write an email or answer the phone knowing your cereal will never get soggy. The easy to hold, textured non-slip grip and rim makes it easy to eat anywhere.

Each Obol is $18.95, but you can also get a set of three for $49.95— we might end up with at least two of these in our apartment, if my roommate has anything to say about it. And honestly, I wouldn’t mind never having soggy cereal again– but could we change the name to something more flattering? (“Obol”? “The Spiral Slide”? Who came up with these names?)
