“The Alphabet” is a beautifully executed animation of 26 types in alphabetical order, which flows from one type to the next seamlessly. Each character is the initial letter of a font name, so that A is for Arial, B is for Baskerville, etc. The crackling soundtrack and parchment-like background lends the short a vintage charm, and the soundtrack is the 1920’s French singer Fréhel’s “Si tu n’étais pas là”.
